LCD (Liquid Crystal Device) is a device having a display technology in which electric current aligns crystal in special liquid, thus allowing light to pass through it. There are two parallel transparent electrodes containing rod-shaped crystals, which change their orientation on passage of current. LCD is found mostly in PDAs, ebook devices, and notepads.
EmPresent, a smart GUI toolkit, provides a desktop based simulation environment and allows the embedded application developer to visualize and test the application even if the hardware is not ready. EmPresent Library has an in-built graphic module, which is used for drawing GUI on to the video memory (VRAM). EmPresent Graphic Interfaces are also exported for LCD controllers, whose interfaces are not compatible to that of EmPresent.
EmPresent has support for various types of Input and Output devices like Mouse, Keyboard, Touch Panels, CRT, LCD, and Joystick etc. Interfaces for File System are also exported, so that user can port his own File System.
